Re: The Office Season 4 Premiere 9/27
[ QUOTE ]
Dids, there are definitely scenes where they drop the pretense of the mockumentary, but usually it's done for significant storytelling purposes that really move the plot along. Even during those scenes though, they do a good job of shooting as though the cameraman was hiding behind a car shooting through a window, hiding in a different room, etc. and it keeps up that illusion. I don't know, this episode did not do that for me at all. There was one instance where the camera trails Pam after leaving work, and even then it seemed forced, contrived, and oddly paparazzi voyeuristic. I don't know, I could be batshit crazy. [/ QUOTE ] You're not crazy. Personally I just try to ignore all that stuff. So far it's been working for me. |

Oh yeah, the way Pam just took that crap from Jan about Michael bugged me. What happened to FNB? It didn't even look like she was secretly smiling to herself because she knows she's with Jim, just like she got verbally beat down.

[/ QUOTE ] I think she was supposed to seem taken aback, this is likely one of her first interactions with Jan without the employer/employee relationship. |

Re: The Office Season 4 Premiere 9/27
It's been a very long time since Michael was at a believable level of stupidity. The scene where he was talking about religion and [censored] was almost unbearably bad to me. Other than that, I liked it alot.

"It was on company property, with company property. So we're ok. Double jeopardy."
"Micheal, I don't think you understand jeopardy" "Oh, right. What is, so we're ok?" |

Re: The Office Season 4 Premiere 9/27
CMI - I jumped into The Office (US) at the beginning of Season 3, and I have some apprehension about watching the UK version now because I think it's been tainted. My fears are totally unfounded since I'm sure I'll like it, but I think how I feel is something similar to what fans of the UK version felt about the US adaptation before they had a chance to see it's just different.

Re: The Office Season 4 Premiere 9/27
ahh, thats odd. I would have guessed you were a fan of the british one, since the complaints youve made (that it doesnt keep with the mockumentary and that its becoming too much of a sitcom) are both things that I think fans of the british version would think.
(just to note, UK >>> US) |
