sheesh, what happened last night?? jeez, and now smoltz and hudson are coming up...forget winning the series, it might be hard to avoid the sweep

[/ QUOTE ]

Smoltz has really been struggling, I would be worried about Hudson though.

[/ QUOTE ]

True, but this is the type of game you (well, at least nervous Mets fans) could totally see Smoltz going out and having a 7 inning, 2 run, 5 hit, 9 K performance.

no mets beat up the studs and lose to the fish

so seeing smoltz/hudson is good for us

Try to look at it this way: Perez had beaten the Braves three times already this year. Beating them a fourth consecutive time would have been pretty amazing.

On the other hand, if you want to be irritated, take note of the fact that the Yankees will probably have the best record in NY within a matter of days.

now glavine is rele gonna suck for th rest of the year now that he got his 300

[/ QUOTE ]

And what exactly was he doing the 1st 4 and a half years? Pitching well????

[/ QUOTE ]

not saying he was good, he was average in my opinion sometimes awful, but he had his moments. Now that he got his 300 hes gonna be a bum for the rest of the year and go back togiving up 4-5 runs every start, if not more.

Stop. No more Yankees talk in this thread. Who gives a rat's ass if they are playing well? I sure don't.

Beltran may be back for tomorrow's afternoon game. Hopefully that also means we'll start seeing a Milledge/Green platoon in right.

I would be surprised if Beltran is back before next week, personally.

Well yeah, let's be somewhat realistic here.

But really these two (small sample size alert w/ LMillz) might be better off platooning, no?:

vs. Lefties
--------------
Milledge: .379/.400/.655/1.055
Green: .192/.250/.288/.536

vs. Righties
--------------
Milledge: .268/.323/.411/.733
Green: .302/.345/.471/.816

What these numbers do prove is that at the very least Green should not face another left-handed pitcher for the rest of the season.
