He's been an average or above average pitcher during his whole Mets tenure, in addition to being extremely durable (and health is a skill). Glavines WARP3 (and ERA) for the Mets: '03 -- 4.3 (4.52) '04 -- 7.3 (3.60) '05 -- 6.8 (3.53) '06 -- 5.6 (3.82) '07 -- 5.3 (4.31) (prorated) That's excellent for a pitcher in his ages 37-41 seasons.

[/ QUOTE ] True, but this is the type of game you (well, at least nervous Mets fans) could totally see Smoltz going out and having a 7 inning, 2 run, 5 hit, 9 K performance.
