Those were some sick beats Chomp, one day you and I will be back with a vengeance and not looking back.

ahem
all those hands were played horribly.

lol. Correct. Although Hand 2 played out as I planned it with my read - from a FToP perspective I think it's better than living in fear of a flush/bd flush. Hand 1 and 3 just stink.

But I also hope you appreciate that one of the problems with moving up is that you play standard spots in a horrible way because the bet-sizing is scary, the players are better, ranges are different to lower games and so generally speaking it is very easy to become disorientated. This is why we make stupid mistakes when we take shots. I look now at the turn bet size in Hand 1 and have no idea what I was thinking lol. Such a simple spot. Bizarre.

And fwiw, I posted these hands fully aware how foolish they'd make me look, but you either report on shots truthfully or not at all. Next shot: I have a better understanding that there is no need to play my premium hands differently to how I would have done at my normal game. So hopefully I won't make these mistakes again. This is the essence of poker development - trying to knock out one mistake at a time.

Munkey and HBomb, thanks for encouragement.

I'm thinking of adding VPIPSB to my HUD as an indicator of general ability... good idea or no?

[/ QUOTE ]

Don't know but I suspect it might converge faster than vpip for donkeys and loose SB villans so u can pick up on the xloooseys quicker.

IDK what do u think?

[/ QUOTE ]

I dunno... guess I was thinking that's one of the big differences btwn winning and losign players... but its probably redundant with VPIP up there already. Oh well.

As an aside... who's the bigger donkey in this hand?

I need to relearn about playing tighter in teh SB having let it slip a bit - it's bloody OOP postflop for [censored] sake so I'm gonna fold alot more

This is the exact kind of hand my ramblings earlier and in ama well post thread that I'm playing differently now.

Basically vs a donk that can't fold as here I'll 3bet him for value or just call in this hand cus we're OOP and c/fold UI without decent outs and won't allow myself to flip essentialy vs a PP - basically all value [except a cbet] but not here in 3bet pot UI.

Munkey - I think in that spot for me, its a battle between trying to embrace variance, the small chance I might be dominating, and my hatred for shortstackers. There's no way I'm not pushing that flop regardless off the cards there. (Which might be a leak, but about 4:1 if he calls, plus any FE I have).

Anyways, my hands in SSNL never got much love... thoughts:

Manchild

Replied to your post -there, with the AK there I think you gotta get AI preflop for the 54/45 flippage vs PPs 70/30 vs AX e.t.c or c/fold the flop UI and 3bet normally to 14 preflop.

Ideally, I would have got AI preflop, but there were still 2 other people in the pot. If I know that I'm HU v. a shorty there, I push that all day.
