Re: **** OFFICIAL Premiership 2006-07 season Thread!*****
THEOSU,
A good young player can thrive at a big club, they just have to be developed by them. I mean look at Cesc, he has been with Arsenal since he was like 15 or something. |

[/ QUOTE ] Arsenal works very well with it's young players, so does Man Utd. Real Madrid on the other hand would be a good example of how a good team can screw young players. |

Do you think Gago and Higuin(sp?) are going to work out there at RM?

It seems to me that a great deal of the damning pressure that comes with any club is the price tag that the club paid for the player. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] There isn't any better out there than Rooney and Ronaldo. [/ QUOTE ] Messi? [/ QUOTE ] I don't think he's in the same level as Ronaldo, maybe better than Rooney, it depends, Rooney is having a poor year,he's much better than what he's showing right now. [/ QUOTE ] Ronaldo = good but judging by this thread very very very over hyped. [/ QUOTE ] do you think anyone is having a better season? [/ QUOTE ] Well I cant comment on European football as I only see European teams when a Brit team plays them in the CL. When Chelsea played Barcelona last year I thought Messi was playing at a higher level than Ronaldo is now and in terms of raw talent and ability is on a whole different level to Ronaldo as was Eto and Ronaldino. As for the EPL yes Ronaldo is haveing a very good season. However so is Paul Shcoles, yet no one mentions him because he does a more workman like job than Ronaldo. He does it brilliantly and effortlessly with no fuss and no showmanship. I think Ronaldo is definatley a world class player just not one of the few great world class players. |

Christ, Newcastle?
From the Guardian - "United States international defender Oguchi Onyewu is undergoing a medical with Newcastle with a view to a loan move from the Belgian side Standard Liege." And Wigan want to sign Julius Aghahowa, which woulda been a hell of a signing five years ago. |

I was going to post that earlier. To be honest, I would have been happier with him going to Chelsea. I'd rather an American play for a bigger team. Fulham isn't really good enough either.
Another note, Beasley scored his first goal for City over the weekend! |

Mascherano goes to Liverpool.
He has been crap for West Ham, but has great potential. Will be interesting to see if he can come good... Edit: Sorry, didnt mean to post this in the 'Ronaldo appreciation thread' thought this was the premiership thread, my bad. Please continue. |
