This thread is pathetic. [/ QUOTE ] Well, duh. But consider the pretentions of the terget audience. I think the whole notion of "intelligence" as a classical, catch-all category is pretty dumb anyway. |

Re: Who are the smartest OOTERS?
IQ scores are useless without stating the test that was taken, its SD, and (for childhood tests) the age at which it was taken. Adult IQ tests are primarily SD-based and are frequently re-normed. Although "most" tests given in the US are SD-15 or -16, apparently some use a different scale. European tests use SD-25 or -26, and so our European members are "overreporting" their IQs in this thread.
I found an IQ conversion calculator, and the Wikipedia entry had more answers. I have no idea what tests I have taken, so the only way I'd get an accurate answer is to go take one anew and ask. So, for equal comparisons sake, the best way to express IQ is to state how rare your score is -- not the IQ number given. |

"How many here got 5's on AP tests that they didn't have a class for? That's as good a metric as any of the crap people are citing here as evidence."
Sweet, that's me kinda. I had an english class, but it had nothign to do for prep for the AP test (which was a cakewalk). My grandfather (not the one in the picture) is Theodore Ostrom of the Ostrom-Wagner Theorum. Paluka should have been on my list of smart people. |

"The angle of the dangle equals the mass of the ass".
Wait. That might not be it. That's just the only theorem I know. |
