Macau seems like it will be huge generating lots of action. Venetian and Wynn have casinos there already. How big do you think it will get?

great thread, im only halfway through but want to ask this question before i forget it.

lets say i call up a host and say im going to give him $250 in casino +EV a day so i can get a free room each night, will that work or are they not responsive to people who know all about the EV and such?

also, say i want to get a room comped each night at a casino but want to do it by spending as little time as possible at the table games. i get a host and tell him im going to bet $1000 a hand for 25 hands or $500 a hand for 50 hands. his EV is +250 and this takes little time for me. will that work?

next, if i count cards while playing and start out betting $500/hand and when the count gets in my favor start betting $2000/hand to neutralize the house edge, will i still get comped? i dont think theyd suspect im counting because im only playing 25 hands so my bet variations dont necessarily mean anything.

what about jumping in a shoe when the count is in your favor and say betting 2k/hand for 12 hands. the house gets their 250 EV. will this work?

almost always, the BJ wagering has to be sustained, usually at least 4 hours of play per day regardless of average bet. no wham bam comps, especially if you have no previously ratings at that casino. arguing net theo with the host is probably not going to help your cause, you'll just get labeled as a wiseass in the computer. comps are meant to attract long-term player loyalty - not as some rapid refund equalizer for single sessions of action.

Sorry it's been so long -

You know so much more than the average player, a casino host will probably tell you to do what you're going to do and he'll take care of you after. Honestly, you are looking to gamble with as little -EV as possible, and while that's smart - it's not something they are used to dealing with when it comes to the knowledge you have about the games. He (casino host) will probably just tell you he'll let you know what he can do after you do your thing once and you can see if it's something you're interested in continuing with future trips.

Most hosts are looking for players who put time in - not the quick plays. This sums up the majority of questions in your post.

this is worded well also.

if you're interested in staying at a smaller property you have more chance of speaking with a host who will go over this in more detail with you. a strip host at a major property doing the same will be almost impossible to find.

Great thread!

I can't get this image out of my mind of getting the comp transferred to Bass Pro Shops. "Yeah, hi t2l, I'm planning on giving your place 4 hrs/day of blackjack action at $100/hand. I'd like that broken down between RoboWorms, Rat-L-Traps, and Berkeley Gulp! swimbaits...what can you do for me?"

sometimes truth is stranger than fiction - and you have no idea how true this joke is. the amount of players we have who want to use comps in Bass Pro is almost silly. i've had a player tell me (in long, drawn out detail) about the type of custom hunting knife he was going to get. almost creepy.

assuming you play tables or slots, you can ask for casino host at any point you feel that you are legitimately risking 250 buck/day. it seems like nothing - but honestly - especially if you're young...this is a number casinos value. they figure that could turn into a 1k player/trip, and that's value.

[/ QUOTE ]

could you give a craps or slot example of 'legitimatley risking 250/day'?

Also, an unrelated question, how much do craps/pit dealers make? when you first start at a low end casino? and then after a few years ?

Thanks for your help
