I'm pretty sure Bowen was trying to foul Lebron to keep him from shooting a 3, not quite sure how the refs missed that.

mastin1, wtf?

[/ QUOTE ]

They swallowed their whistles in the last few minutes. Everyone was getting hammered. The talking heads were saying Bowen touched LeBron while he was picking up the ball in the act of shooting. Anyone confirm? Did they blow three dramatic FTs for the finish?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes. And it was a pretty easy call to make too.

So much for rigged NBA.

Lebron was obviously, obviously fouled. Bowen was trying to foul him intentionally, that's why Lebron jacked up a quick three.

Right, but was he fouled during the act of shooting? Didn't get to see the replay.

[/ QUOTE ]

Would've been easy (and correct) continuation call. All in the same motion.

Dear East,

your conference blows. Your best team would probably be the 7 seed in the West.

very disappointing game (and series) for cleveland. they played great d and only needed an average offensive performance to prevail but the only words that come to mind are abysmal and anemic.

everyone will rip on them but i think they played far below their abilities in this series. i suppose its to be expected coming off a physical, emotional detroits series and facing a dynasty team in your first finals.

still, its tough to swallow when you play worse than capable.

By the rules, I agree. However, I think that's the problem with "continuation" calls. On layups/dunks they make sense, but in this case, Lebron hadn't even fully picked up his dribble 27 feet from the basket. Refs do NOT want to make that continuation call. Nor do they want to call a non-continuation foul, because what if he sinks it? It's really difficult. I've seen refs swallow the whistle before in these types of situations.
