Nooooooo come to the Four Winds instead that weekend. Brand new casino = donk magnet, and you would be surprised at how many donks from Chicago/Detroit/Indy will make that trip. It will be worth the drive, IMNSHO.

8.5 hrs compared to 6.5 for AC, 6.25 for FW, and 1.5 for either Niagara or TStone? That's a bit far for me.

With that being said... I am flying next time fo sho!

I'm not saying I'm 100% opposed to driving more than 7 hrs, but your trip has some key differences:

1. It's Vegas
2. Longer than a weekend trip IIRC

Driving out to Michigan for just a weekend, wasting a pretty good chunk of that in the car isn't as appealing.
