luckily, the huskies like to play in a style that i think helps us...but we'll see.
WSU needs to just make sure the dud's in phoenix don't upset them now...it almost happened to Oregon. |

Look to see Oregon swept this week by the Washington schools (provided Hawes is back), then see them swept in LA next week. Oregon will be 6-5 or 7-4 in conference on Groundhog's day. But that's pretty good for the Pac 10. [/ QUOTE ] I just wanted to gloat. I was rooting pretty hard for the Ducks today. Seemed entirely unable to sink a 3 at the end. Brooks seemed off all game. So many times he drove to the basket and threw up a high-arcing prayer that hit nothing but glass. They'll get a win on Thursday vs. ASU at home, then vs. Arizona at home next saturday should be interesting. I count only 2 or 3 more losses for the Ducks at most. I'd expect them to finish the Pac10 season 12-6 (currently 7-4). |

Before the game I had read a column in one of the Seattle papers talking about how the Cougs really hadn't put up a stinker yet in Pac-10 play, which is bound to happen. There it was I guess. That 2nd half was sick, every shot was rolling in and out of the rim. BUT - these are the games that good teams come through to win, so it was great to escape with a win. Stanford this week will be a very tough game for them. GO COUGS |

Didn't see the game but what a crappy second half, WSU had 12 and ASU had 23. I mentioned earlier (OP maybe) that I think ASU has the team to surprise a team or two and I could still see that happening. Oregon only beat them by 5 or so and somewhat pulled away late.
BTW anybody remember a team losing by 47 in Pac 10 play? |

Notes on ASU/WSU
Baynes might be the worst player ever. We're horrible with him on the floor. ASU has one good player (Pendergraff), he's pretty good. |

USC's real good. I whiffed on my suspicions about UO and how they were one of the top two teams in the conference (although on the other hand I was correct when I said that when I expressed hope, they'd be sure to let me down), but I stand by my statement that USC is better than they are being given credit for. UCLA, USC are 1/2 imo (sorry Wazzu).
