I posted: "If Fogg pitches five good innings we should win the game because we held off SD's only real advantage." I don't disagree with your comment about my rushed post about playing with anyone.. was in work in a hurry. I clarified, though, that I meant we should win the game. What are you referring to? If I ever said that we would win if Fogg gave us 5 I clearly misspoke, but I don't think I did. edit: Maybe you missed my followup post or maybe I'm just losing my mind. [/ QUOTE ] At least now we will never have to find out if you were right or not. |

I expected it to be 2-1 or 1-0 or something but we're in the game and Peavy is pitching 20 an inning and we're hitting him fine. May come down to the closers and I like ours a lot. |

Re: finally gonna have a tiebreaker game
[ QUOTE ]
All the rockies posters in this thread changed me from indifferent to wanting the Pads to win. [/ QUOTE ] I don't know why. These quotes are great: [ QUOTE ] National League had more parity, that is true But good god, give me the Orioles and D-Rays to play 18 times a year please, k thx... I'll trade them for the Giants/Dodgers anyday [/ QUOTE ] This would be true if it wasn't not true. I am pretty sure that BOS and NYY would trade TB, BAL, and a few draft picks to play SF and LAD 18 times a year a piece. The only bad thing for BAL and TB would be constantly battling for 1st place and the WC. [ QUOTE ] I would put Cleveland and Anaheim over any NL team, but that's about it. I'd put the Red Sox over Arizona and the Cubs, and about even with the Phillies and Rockies. Arizona is worse than any AL team in the playoffs. [/ QUOTE ] The ARI part is true and he is right about CLE and ANA over any NL team. He could possibly be right about NYY and BOS being even with PHI and COL, but this is assuming that BOS 3-4-5 is Schilling (DH and Pitcher), Hinske, and Cora. Cora playing 2B and Manny playing SS. NYY would have to modify their line up similarly. There are some similar gems in the MLB Post-season thread. craig P.S. I know that people are just excited, as am I about BOS, but to think, despite tons of data to the contrary, that any of the AL teams are dogs to any NL team in the World Series is just plain wrong. At the same time, anything can happen in a short series (or season even) and even if you know 'your team' is an underdog, it is still fun to root for them. |
