For me it is Apogee Telecom. My ISP. The only ISP available to me... Worst, company, ever.

Notables include:
Starbucks, Best Buy, Blockbuster.

I have a love/hate relationship with Best Buy.

I'm gadget freak, so I go in there a bunch. I hate the way they give you the hard sell on the service plan, along with asking you 1,569 other questions when all I'm trying to do is buy something.

Would you like to buy the service plan?
No.
May I ask why?
Because the 'service plan' is the biggest consumer rip-off ever.
[blank look from zit faced 17-year-old kid]
Um... Can I have you phone number?
No.
[blank look]
Um...
Will you be using your Best Buy rewards card today?
No.
Do you have a Best Buy rewards card?
No.
Would you be interested in applying for a Best Buy rewards card? It's free.
No.
Would you like to sign up for 3 free issues of Entertainment magazine?
No. Just shut the [censored] up and take my money FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!

Skoob, this sounds EXACTLY like how I feel when I walk into CompUSA. God I hate that store. But I have a bunch of gift cards from the holidays, so....

Went in recently to buy a laptop for the wife, which would have been my first non-Dell-over-internet computer purchase in ten years. Conversation with the sales hack lasted about 30 seconds, after he recited the litany of things the price didn't include and things the computer wouldn't do, and ended with "Well, I guess I'm not buying anything, am I?" and walking out. AAAAAAAARGH!

Googling can find details on the 9/11 conspiracy also- I wanted YOUR sources for this, not the CO2 stuff:

Also recycling companies...
1. Returned glass is just buried in landfills but charge recycling fee
2. recycled paper comes at great cost...power consumption is double, chemicals including cyanide, bleach etc req'd to recycle to create inferior product

[/ QUOTE ]

Source, please?

[/ QUOTE ]

Some places DO comingle recycling back into trash, but not all.

I also would like to see the double-cost source.

Thanks
LL

All gas companies for taking advantage of everyone. I know that gas is more expensive in europe/asia, but they made huge record profits in '06'.

Starbucks..... continuously expanding their coffee empire to a monopoly.

OnRebate.com

I bought a computer on TigerDirect that had two rebates. I did everything [censored] perfect, and they acknowledged I did everything perfect. I even paid a $9 fee for them to send it to me over Paypal (2-3 days) instead of mail (8-10 weeks, wtf?). So I look at the online status and it says completed and processing payment. I didn't get my money until like 6 months later after phone calls that probably cost me more than the rebates.

They kept saying they were only processors and they couldn't let the money go until someone else authorized it. Every time I called I would be told they would call me back, or "Oh thats all set payment was just scheduled, will go through on friday.

This last for [censored] months. UGH!

I'd have to go with Delta and Time Werner Cable.

Get a clue yourself. Being right wing, or not being left wing, doesn't make you any smarter or more knowledgeable about anything, and being left wing isn't a fit subject for criticism in this forum.

That was one of the worst posts I've read here in a while. And I read a lot of posts.

If you want to be rational, come up with points and advance them, rather than slinging ridiculous disparaging comments around as if they actually involved real thinking.

[/ QUOTE ]

Blarg,

I thought his point was decent. A lot of the criticisms of Walmart are pretty short-sighted, IMO.

[ QUOTE ]

I mean, come on, you guys seriously have a problem with Walmart "forcing" its employees to work for low wages, "forcing" consumers to buy their products and "forcing" small town businesses out of business?

[/ QUOTE ]

These are quotes from this thread. These are all silly if you've taken an introductory economics class.

Can you elaborate on what you meant?

I hate thetruth.com and all those other anti smoking ads that are incredibly annoying.

[/ QUOTE ]

What a horrible waste of my money. I pay Over $4 a pack and thats what they do with it. Maybe they could make cheaper gum or something so people can quit smoking. I wouldnt, but maybe someone might.
