It was a sick beat for jamie gold that PA hit his 2 outer to stack him (no way the money would go in if the ace came) and only fair Jamie won 2/3 pot [/ QUOTE ] lol |

Most interesting part of the show was Barry's bet sizing imo.

I personally think this takes it over the line everytime unless you are talking about a serial killer, child rapist, or a brutal dictator of some kind. To make this comment about someone like Jamie Gold is simply juvenile. |

Would it be acceptable for PA and Gold to split the pot according to odds? Or would that be considered bad etiquette or bad tv?

[ QUOTE ] Against Jamie's actual hand, the EV Patrik gets from the possibility of a king turning is $13,275 (2/45 * $399,500 * 77.3%). [/ QUOTE ] You forgot to consider the outcome when Gold hits his redraw. [/ QUOTE ] I was all set to write a post about how you're retarded, but then I realised that actually it's me that's retarded. Recalculating it properly, the EV from a king turn is more like 7K. |

Re: High Stakes Poker thread (11/12 - 500k Buyin - Part 2 Spoilers aho
Was PA's call on the flop optimal?
Perhaps not, but this is a play that is style dependent imo. Some people make calls like this all the time, others don't like to. Was it a good gamble considering this exact player and situation? OF COURSE IT WAS. Results don't matter. PA managed to get all the money in with the nuts. Mr. Gold was in deep ish. Antonius risked a little to win alot. This is the definition of a a good gamble. He knew that Gold is the type of player who might: A) Try a HUGE bluff and B) Stack off for 325K+ with the non nuts. So critics can say whatever they want, that call on the flop ended up working perfectly (results don't matter right?). If a king or ace didn't hit, this hand might not of even made the TV cut. |
