How can the reporter clear a vanillager? He could have just not used a night action or he could be a wolf that didn't do the night kill.

All wolves have night actions whether or not they take a kill (at least according to FCBL) (someone might want to PM with NichP and check).

And since IY doesn't have a night action, he's good.
