Guys: Doing smaller tournaments per week does not have to mean they will be worth that much less hopefully.

My original idea was Wednesday evening and Saturday afternoon. Your choice of playing ONE of these two tourneys for flexibility.
If they were both $25k tourneys and had roughly half the number of players then they would still be worth as much as the current $50k Saturday tourney.

Value remains the same.

This is also how I recommended changing them to SNG's if possible. Prize-pool for a single-table VIP SNG would be WAY WAY less than $50k...but that doesn't have to mean that the value itself is way way less.

I'm not quite as keen as having them be bi-weekly every Saturday for a larger prize-pool because then you still are forced to play when Stars says so. But at least it's not as much of a commitment and I would end up getting half of my Saturdays back which wouldn't be bad at all.

But I would also feel even ore guilty or worse on any of the Saturdays where I wasn't able to make it.


Myturn's perspective is an interesting one.
He's final-tabled these things and has made $15k and STILL pretty much dislikes them. That should really tell you something.

that is not true...i think they would approximately attract the same number of players the 50 is doing allready...it doesnt mean that one who plays on a saturday won't play on wednesdays cause he allready played his 1 freeroll...value is divided by 2 and as previously stated the prize/players would be -ev for most sn...

The idea would be that you get to play ONE freeroll per week but you get to choose whether it be on Wednesday or Saturday.
that way you get some choice in the matter instead of always having to be roped in to a Saturday time-slot that might not be so great for you.

Obviously having even more of them through the week or setting up VIP SNG's would give even greater flexibility than that.

I very much agree with this.

Although I'm not sure Sunday would be a great day to have them either for most people.

As far as the SNG idea from MicroBob, I like it but I'm pretty sure that Stars won't. It doesn't have the marketing appeal that a "$50,000 prizepool" has. Unless they added some sorta zing to it somehow.

Fully agree with having two $25,000 donkaments. I think that's the best option right now. Of course, Scotty posed the question about whether or not that's fair for the 'peans , and nobody has had a really good answer to that yet.

As "annoying" as this thread is to some, I think we're coming up with some really good ideas in our attempt to make the freeroll promotion a little more flexible and/or appealing to us.

I'm not actually all that annoyed - I think you guys are coming up with some solid ideas, and even better, Stars is willing to at least listen to them. It does hurt my brain though to read about all the different ways to slice up a freeroll.
