Re: TO CATCH A PREDATOR IN 23 MINS
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] no offense.. but when I was 14.. I knew better. If these were real 14 year old girls having these chats with 60 year old guys etc.. I'd think there was about as much wrong with them as with the guys. [/ QUOTE ] I also knew better at 14, but I didn't grow up in chaos. Look at the example I just gave, the strippers girls won't admit to their mom that he molests them, and she caught him in the act. you have to understand how the children sometimes don't understand it's wrong as a result of having no model of "normal" to construct their reality around. Think of when rape victims can't testify in court, it's the same deal. [/ QUOTE ] See I don't buy the whole no model of normal. Even kids with no idea of what normal is have friends, and have eyes. My childhood sucked, my dad was an alchy etc.. but I still knew what normal was. [/ QUOTE ] I agree with this, and was instantly reminded of this comic. I'm sure sexual abuse is vastly different than having a weird bike riding dad, but to excuse everything that happens to someone who has a rough childhood simply enables them and makes it harder to break the cycle of abuse. |
