Re: ** WSOP ME, $10,000 NLHE, Day 1B , Saturday, July 7 **
I busted in 3-4 hours.
My made hands got run down. The (semi-)bluff I ran got called down. I went card dead. All my small/medium pairs and connectors missed every single flop. And then I get the 80-end of the 80/20 (AA v. TT) and got outflopped to finish me off. Just a bad session, it just happened to come on Day 1 of the WSOPME, that's all. I left the room the proverbial "Mr. Happy to be Here" guy. After several years of trying to make my way into the Main Event (I'm not exactly robusto here) and several poker ups and down, I finally won my way in just 2 days prior to play my first Main Event, and in the process cracked through the long poker rut I've been in. I'll admit, I purchased the trinkets. I bought the souvenir air-hockey-puck dealer button, and I pre-ordered the wooden-box-etched-glass-whathaveyou setup that'll come with 2 decks of the WSOP cards. And yes, I'm gonna dork out and laminate and even frame the entry card. [censored] it. I'm using this 3-4 hours of finally accomplishing a life goal to springboard myself back into getting super-deep into the game, and making myself some monies. |

Singer was well within his rights to ask to have the hand killed, and by the strict observance of the rule, the hand probably should have been dead. However, they absolutely cannot and must not allow him to play on another Day One. That is a can of worms that can never be opened, because I can already hear the outrage now. Refunding his buy-in might be an option, but that $10K should remain in the prize pool and come out of Harrah's pocket, as it was their bad ruling. But even that seems a little sketchy, as someone else said. Unfortunate situation. [/ QUOTE ] My thoughts exactly. |
