that lack of a top striker is what I really think has hampered the scum since they sold owen. Overall they have had a hard time scoring goals the past three seasons and haven't been that entertaining of a side.

also, lol at whoever said taht Pennant always looks good, he has always had flashes of brilliance, but has dissapeared a lot in the middle of games and his service has never been great. Today he epitomized that and he never really put the ball at gerrard's or kuyt's feet so that both of them could be dangerous in the box. if that had happened, the outcome may have been different

There is a reason Pennant looks so good.

If liverpool had had a stronger player in Pennants position then they would have won. Rafa got his tactics spot on unfortunately he didnt have the players to really drive home the weaknesses he identified in Milan.

Swap Zenden and Pennant for actual good players and Liverpool win that game at a canter. In the end Liverpools squad of mostly mediocre players got found out. No wonder Rafa is planning a huge clear out in the summer.

1&fk,

a top level striker who actually puts away chances would help, too.

also, i saw during the match an advert that euro2008 will be on the espn family in the US. that is sensational news.

I think this was the biggest news of the day. Others disagree, but I think the European championship is the best competition in football, at least involving national sides.

Great news, although I still will want to go out to bars and watch and celebrate with other Azzurri fans.

That was announced a few months ago. I just hope they find competent announcers.

I like how you don't even mention Dave O'Brien. Must've suppressed that memory.
