How do you evaluate smartness, knowledge, wiseness.

I feel ppl believe certain things make you "smart" while others don't. My friend goes to Berkeley, and after 1 year, he thinks he is a genious.

I go to SJSU, (pretty [censored] school) and feel that I am "wiser" than him. I have more collective knowledge over many different topics.

He can do math, memorize, and spell. I can't. Yet I feel I am not dumber than him. I guess we are both good at different things, however the things I am good at are not as accepted by the public.

Does anybody know the writer: Haruki Murakami? I am not a big reader but I have read one book of him and am perplexed by his talent of writing and immetiatly ordered anouther book of him. I would love a threat about him to hear other people their thoughts.

I would like a discussion on which jobs are most enjoyable, and pay the most, for the amount of time/effort involved.

The thread should include some rules for example:
--jobs must pay 60k+
--job is attainable through a normal routes (don't have to know someone)
-- etc

I'd be interested in a thread about country clubs. I only know a few people who "belong" to one (I hate that term), so I'd like to know if anyone here is a member and whether or not they feel the price is worth it for the golf/tennis stuff and for the social events.
