My dad worked as a news director for a public radio network for like 30 years. Now he works for a small software company that mostly does stuff with hydroelectric power districts.

Recently retired after 40 years as a mathematician for NASA's John Glenn (aka Lewis) Research Center in Cleveland. Had one job from grad school until retirement.

Deceased. When alive he was a breeder, trainer, professional handler of show dogs.

To the poster above who asked how people deal with their father's death, I'd say that kinda depends on the relationship you have between you. For me last week was the fifth anniversary and a day still hasn't gone by that I didn't think of him. Enjoy them while you can sounds corny but it's true.

Sorry to hear that pal. I didn't really spend much time with my dad because I still had that my dad is Superman idea in my head. Last summer I helped him build a deck and he was pretty winded at the end of the day. It was at that moment that I saw him for what he is: a regular guy who is almost 60. Since then I have tried to spend more time and become friends with my dad.
