Re: The official Borat Movie Thread
[ QUOTE ]
For those of you who say it is all staged are missing the point. Yes, some situations may be staged, but the people and their reactions are genuine, and that is the point. [/ QUOTE ] You do not understand the meaning of staged. |

Re: The official Borat Movie Thread
The running of the jew was the best scene imo. The whole movie was lol funny. It did get a little quiet in my theatre as well when the frat boys were saying americans wish they still had slaves.

The Southern formal dinner scene was spectacular. I was crying by the time he came back to the table with the "bag" in his hands. The movie is a classic. I wonder how TBS will figure out how to edit it so they can run it into the ground four years from now. [/ QUOTE ] While that scene was hilarious, my only problem with the scene is that it is a rehash of Da Ali G show. There is a skit from the show that had the exact same premise: Borat gets etiquette training, then goes to a formal dinner. |

Re: The official Borat Movie Thread
Awesome movie ... I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard I cried during a movie, but during Borat I was in tears during pretty much the whole thing.

Re: The official Borat Movie Thread
The humor coach was absolutely staged. Just look at the writing on the board behind him.
It really kills the humor when it's staged. |

Re: The official Borat Movie Thread
Humor coach wasn't staged. The coach admitted the same in some online article (although he did say he thought something was fishy with the whole interview). The writing on the whiteboard could have been written down by Borat when he go tthere for all you know.

Re: The official Borat Movie Thread
Spoilers kind of, I guess.
I saw this today as well, the Running of the Jew and the Jewish bed and breakfast were two of the funniest things I've ever seen, though some people in the theater didn't seem to agree. The last scene as well with Pam Anderson was amazing, and I really hope it wasn't staged. Funniest movie I think I've ever seen. |
