I have no idea how any of that stuff works....so I can only guess what it means that you 'syndicated' it. didn't even know that was possible.
Good to know.

I've been following along with the thread here and your guys' progress and a big congrats to you both!

Am I the only one that is extremely confident that you BOTH got in? How many people had the hours available to devote with the bankroll and ability to 10 table? Then add to that those who had the extra 25K points to make it 50K. Remember alot of folks have probably been using 20K points for the Party for Free tourny.

I'm confident you both earned the points about as fast as humanly possible and will be Cruisin!

hey bob, i did that wendys-air train promo too but i took a different route ( ie: i rummaged through their trash and got enough cups for 2 round trip tickets in a couple of sessions ). it was hard to get the motivation since if i wasn't doing that i'd definetly be doing some poker playing but whatever, it was fun.

also if you get 128 cups you can sell them on ebay for between 150-200 bucks on ebay, i have seen.

Hope you get it. I don't think $ / hr is the right way to evaluate this endeavor, although I suppose it's only natural given that we're poker players, and $ is the bottom line.

Regardless of whether you had a negative or barely positive $ / hour rate while killing yourself, a Carribean cruise is a friggin Carribean cruise. It will be an experience you'll remember and talk about in 40 years, long after your $37/hr winrate, or whatever it is has been lost to senility. The life utility of you going on the cruise vastly overweighs any marginal win or loss rate.

So for some insane reason I also took a shot at this despite being a blue member. I hit the 25K target on Tues, Dec 27th and sent them an email that day at 12:00 noon. I sent another email this morning (Dec 28th) when the points had been posted. They replied with the following

> Congratulations.

I responded with

Thanks for the prompt response.

I understand that you can't tell me if I've won a cruise package until Jan
5th.

But surely you must know whether 30 people emailed you prior to my email
yesterday claiming to have accumulated 25,000 points. Would it be possible
for you to tell me if this is the case? I would greatly appreciate it, after
the effort I've put in.

Thank you very much, and Happy Holidays

They then responded with

Congratulations.

You have won yourself an entry into the PartyPoker.com Million V event by earning 25,000 Regular Players club Points in the Party for Cruise Promotion.

Do note that you are required to have 50,000 playerıs club points in your account on the 5th of January.

You will receive more details about the entry to the main event and the cruise package soon.

Thank you for participating in the promotion.

So anyone who hit the 25K target prior to noon yesterday should also be in.

Wow.

Thanks!!!!

Hopefully this is correct (the VIP reps have been incorrect before) and it means what we think it means.
But metetron was 12 hours later than this I believe so we still have some sweating to do regarding his situation.

They likely would not want to tell him if he did NOT make it...because if others were to find out then they would stop chasing after it (although I doubt there would be many people STILL trying to get it....but you never know...maybe there are more people going much more slowly on this than we are aware of).

Dear Nick,

Thank you for contacting us.

The promotion you are referring to is running from the 24th December 2005 till the 3rd January 2006. The results will only be known on the 5th December therefore you are still on time to be one of the 30 players who will be going on the Party Poker Million V cruise.

I wish you the best of luck and hope you have a great day.

Should you require further assistance, our Customer Care Department is available 24/7 to assist you via email.

Thank you for choosing us as your online gaming site!

This is why I don't like Party.

[/ QUOTE ]

That can't be the only reason, as good as it is.....

It's probably because PokerPoker.com support decided to handle this question. They aren't NEARLY as competent as the fine folks at Party customer care. Heck, PokerPoker.com won't even say who made the cruise for another 11 months.

My GF just called me from work and I told her that it looks even more like we're in. But we still don't want to get TOO crazy-optimistic about it...because who knows if there's still a chance that that guy doesn't know what he's talking about and they somehow got 75 other e-mails before ours.

But obviously we're pretty sure that it means what we think it means (and could still look decent for metetron's chances too hopefully).
