I just can't wait until the seires is over and one of two things happen:

1) The Red Sox win as they are supposed to as the way better team

or

2) The Rockies win because of the variance in baseball

[/ QUOTE ]

I was just gonna make this post. Even if the Rockies somehow swept it'd be "How dumb baseball is rigged, variance how lucky you guys are sox rule!"

[/ QUOTE ]

And guess what, as Rockies fans, it shouldn't matter one freakin bit to you. You should be on Cloud 9 for the next 4 months. Just ignore what everyone has to say about it.

[/ QUOTE ]

Don't worry, it won't effect me. I'm not concerned with others validation. Just a funny situation that would assuredly occur if the Rockies won.

[/ QUOTE ]

Just note that the same things be said if it was the Indians instead of the Red Sox

[/ QUOTE ]

From the ALCS thread, I don't think that is necessarily true.

That's because the Indians were the "underdog" in the series. I have a feeling things would be different if they had won and then didn't run well against the Rockies.

The Rockies had an AEQR of 856 in a division where the other 4 teams had an AEQRA of 692, 682, 715, and 739. In general, our division had the lowest AEQRA and yet the Rockies scored 860 runs

[/ QUOTE ]

I am totally rooting for the Rockies, and I think they have a fine chance (as does any decent team in a 7-game series), but using non-park-adjusted run totals as an argument for the Rockies is not going to be taken very seriously around here.

How many of those runs were scored at home and how many on the road?

per Vegas, the Rockies are a bigger dog than the Indians. iirc the Indians were + 160, Rockies are +180

I think the "true numbers" are closer to even money for both those series, but I'm not going to bet against my team

BP has the Rockies at 56% to win the WS. I find that hard to believe.

a lot of that is matchup related according to Clay's noted (which is obv I a good thing to consider).

I suspect that when writers make their picks, >50% will be on the Red Sox though

KB4Z,

As far as Vegas goes, the line is assuredly out of whack and smart money will be on Colorado. Even though Boston will be a favorite to win, the line definitely won't be right in this series based on perception.

Kyro,

I guess as long as you guys don't run good we're sure to win then

It also just occurred to me your entire argument centered on the Rockies scoring lots of runs against good pitching and yet completely ignored the fact that they gave up lots of runs against crappy hitting.
