Re: Guitar Hero III

Hope the boss battles are fun to play. They're miserable to watch. All the sound effects from powerups ruin the song. [/ QUOTE ] i have now tried to beat lou for 7 hours on hard and cannot do it. i can assure you it is not fun. on the other hand i can try and fail ttfaf multiple times but it is still fun. also, [censored] lou. i am an average player who can 5* some hard songs and got all the way to lou (with 1 try per song and 2 tries on "one") and i have no chance because i am literally not good/lucky enough. [censored] this im playing madden |

If you store three attacks you can fail him pretty easily during his last solo. |

Re: Guitar Hero III

Picked the game up at Costco yesterday. I'm in the Daliman group, kind of gave up on passing hard on GH2 after making it about half way through, but I have plenty of fun playing medium. Medium to me seems harder than medium on GH2. Anyone else think that? A lot more HOPO's than I remember in 2. Overall I think I like what they did with the game. Not sure if I like the songs as much, I think some people nailed it earlier saying that they have good songs, but not all of them translate into good GH3 songs. Boss battles are fun, glad they came up with that as a way to break the just-play-song-after-song rut. I also get a kick out of the cartoon animations between the different locations. Only real gripe is about the guitar itself, I have the XBox wireless guitar. The whammy bar is just a little farther away from where it is on my other guitar, and the bar is longer. I just don't have the feel for it yet, and I feel like I really have to reach to get it. The other gripe is based on the shape of the guitar, my right forearm kind of rests on it weird and it's uncomfortable. I think I have a slight bruise there today from playing for a while yesterday. Overall I'm still enjoying it though. [/ QUOTE ] I'm the same as you right now. Let me know if you want to play sometime, I don't want to get owned by experts dropping down to get the online achievement. It would be much more fun to play someone around my level. Also, I think it's uncomfortable because of the faceplate. It seems like it's a sharper edge from the GH2 version which was more rounded off around the edges. |

Re: Guitar Hero III

anyone have suggestions for beating lou on hard? i beat every song in one try except "one" (lol irony) and have now tried lou for about 3 hours and i feel like i have no chance to beat him at all [/ QUOTE ] just learn the songs so you don't fail without his attacks. Then, don't use your attacks until you have three, until hit him in the second half of the song. When he hits a solo, hit him, wait till it's done, and when he has notes, hit him again, and when that's done, and he has notes, hit him one more time. Assuming you don't fail during all the scales, he should be in the red, or done. So if you pick up one more attack, it's over. I lost for a few hours, then switched to this method, and beat him on the third time. |

Re: Guitar Hero III
Honestly, I haven't beaten much of any hard mode on any of the games currently, but I owned up medium pretty easy. In fact, I didn't fail a single song, other than Tom and Slash both beat me once each (didn't fail against Lou at all though). Also, I 5 starred every song on medium first time through except for three of them - can't remember the first one, but I 4 starred Stricken (even though I love that song, beginning game me some hassles early on) and I only 3 starred the Slayer song, which I thought was easily the hardest song in there, at least on medium.
Gonna play a bit more medium before I move to hard. I was just in a hurry cause I really wanted to play the metallica song badly. Oh, yeah, I love the metallica version on this. I think it's dead on. |
