[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] they killed him in a restaurant while he ate with his family. tony watched [/ QUOTE ] who killed him? [/ QUOTE ] I can easily see how you could get The sopranos, confused with Analyze This. [/ QUOTE ] my bad, i quoted the wrong post. i want to know who people think killed tony, of those who think the cut to black means he was killed. [/ QUOTE ] Sigh. Ok obv it would be the dude who was in the restroom. I don't really like that theory though. I think we're simply not supposed to know if his life went on or if it ended. [/ QUOTE ] well of course. who is he working for? who wants tony dead at the end of the episode? thanks for the sigh and for unblocking me, though! [/ QUOTE ] Still blocked. Ok you mean who is behind it. That's a better question. |

Re: Sopranos Season Finale Discussion
So how can they spend so much time and development on the whole Kevin Finnerty thing, and then just let it fall flat with no payoff at all?

4) Was Chase [censored] with us? I assumed when he cut it he wanted us to be unsure what the [censored] just happened (cutting tape, busted tv, etc). I had to settle down first before I could think rationally. [/ QUOTE ] That's what pissed me off about it. If you want the series to end without a bang that's fine. But don't making a mockery of it. |

Re: Sopranos Season Finale Discussion
i thought the last scene was great , tony and carmela accepting that tony is going to prison , the tension between tony and the creepy guy , the "normal" family just sitting around eating dinner at a diner like normal people...and the journey song playing in the background just was the icing on the cake ...GG david chase ...

the ending is a crafted jolt to the viewers. i can understand people standing on "that ending sucked", i can understand people being struck and then going on to accept or like or love it. but to say it's perfect within seconds of the credits rolling seems like you're skipping over the mourning phase. how can you say something was great despite difficulty if you never actually internalized the difficulty? it's like everyone wants to be the first to "get it". [/ QUOTE ] Quite so. I may eventually decide that the ending was entirely appropriate and wonderful but right now I am still dealing with a feeling of emotional betrayal, and am completely let down by the non-ending. I really enjoyed the episode as a whole. |

Re: Sopranos Season Finale Discussion
I actually loved the last scene, the concept being that every person was someone who might just be out to kill Tony, representative of the persistent threat he faces as a mob boss. The last split second was a little corny.

[/ QUOTE ] Great Post, Honestly right now I'm not sure what to think of the episode. It was good and the last few minutes were great but I'm not suer how I feel about the ending. |
