I finally figured out how to combat boredom while playing poker.

The theory is if I bombard my myself with things I despise, poker feels great. This involves the following:

1- Soda: terrible texture, taste, smell.

2- Smoking, uh cigarettes, okay?

3- Television: pure brain rot, blast in the background.

I would say back to the game but the dude went spazz-donkey on me. Pushes AI PF with 22 while I have AK soooooooooooooted and rivers a duck after I air-ball.

Brag: The moron realized he couldn't beat me post flop!

Variance: He is smarter than most morons.

I get bored for the same reason a junky get bored of crack, he wants heroine but cant afford it.

dude, you should chill and not play if you dont enjoy it. Ive been playing poker for 2.5 years now and havent made any significant money (in 2p2 balla terms). Whenever I felt like "I need to" make money "now" it didnt happen. Whenever I felt that "I need to" move up "now" it didnt happen.

Last month I had 80$ left and decided to [censored] poker and only play the lowest limits if I felt like playing cards. I didnt care about the money, how long the sessions were or the results. Now Im crushing the 55s (theoretically, results are standard lets say) and everything is good.

If I dont feel like playing for an entire week, I dont play for an entire week. When I feel like going out on saturday night were the 110s are more juicy than the 22s on monday - I go out on saturday night.

What are you doing for a living? Do you have other stuff going on right now that make your life sucky? Cause if theres stuff bothering me IRL, I can guarantee you that my pokersessions will reflect that. Ive heard the same from many others.

and also you need to stop looking at 2p2 as the "standard". If you go ahead and post in BBV that youre a winning player at the 22s now you will probably get "lols" and "rofls" all over.

But guess what, in reality 60% of all pokerplayers are losers. Less than 20% (random guess) can be called "winning players". Out of these maybe 5% (read that somewhere) actually make a living.

Becoming, or being a winning player is hard work and by no means "standard". Having a 2p2 account doesnt make you a winning player and A LOT of people around here (and everywhere else) THINK they are winning players.

Thats were the HU forum is pretty unique as well. We dont ignore each other, bash the noobs or have an AHK script for posting "ban pls".

I think one of the most important things for us as HU players is to have a network of friends for support IRL, on aim, ventrilo or whatever. Even just having this forum helps a ton.

Basically what I am saying is, when you start tilting, don't be alone. For electrical jebus sake don't be alone and tilting.

My roommate works at blockbuster and some guy came in getting 5 rentals. My roommate explained to him that with some deal he can get a 6th rental free, but the guy explained that he had too much money and wanted to spend it not save it.

My roommate being probably the most gullible person in the world excitedly asked him what he does for a living:

-What do you do?
-I make 500k/year playing poker and have a doctorate in Philosophy.
-You sound like my roommate, he is a Philosophy major and plays poker online.
-Playing poker online is the stupidest thing he could do. I travel to Montreal to play in the casino.

That is pretty much all I got out of the conversation before I tried to explain to my roommate that he was lying. My roommate intensely argued with me that it was true, but he also argues with me that magic is real and that Criss Angel can actually levitate.

Does Casino De Montreal even have poker? As of about 2 years ago they didn't.
