I am all for trying to grow the activity in the lounge a little and I would welcome a larger community. I hope others feel the same way. I'm confident we can do this while still keeping our respectful vibe. I can't see that it will be a problem and I want to welcome Tuq and his friends to the Lounge. hasn't Al been here before and left?

When the Lounge started, I made more of a conscious effort to post here - I've always been a fan of the "adult-OOT" sensibility for a forum (though I like OOT alot too, obv). When EDF started up, it basically took the Lounge off my radar. I'm sure my story is similar to many other posters.

I think Tup basically puts The Lounge back on the 2p2 map. True, there's some downside (e.g. potentially more trolls, random content-less posts) but that's controllable through good modding. The upside is that this forum is back on the radar of quality posters with value add for both thread-origination and quality, organic thread-growth.

I think you'll always have your "core" community, but having quality posters dropping in with higher frequency can only be good for the forum, imo.

Blarg,

OK, whatever, pryor is right, no need to rehash old arguments.

Anyway, my main point is simply that tup is cool and Mat loves the Lounge, so I think you are getting worked up about nothing.

Having said that, I do agree that the communication could have been smoother.

yeah, this was really bad communication, especially for the lounge where we usually do this well

Wow! tl;dr dramabomb!

I consider tl;dr my home forum though I admit it doesn't take me long to come in at night, blow through new content and move on.

I like tuq's posting. It did raise an eyebrow to see he'd been modded here. But hey, change is the only thing that remains the same. Eventually, the world will move your cheese.

I am all for new content here. I think db has been putting up the politically-toned threads to generate more volume. I, then, have to be me; and find myself in the uncomfortable position of shaking my fist at my tl;dr buddies as I take on the position of tl;dr right wing curmudgeon.

So bring it, tuq. Let's have more fun.

I'll be the first to say that the fact that tuq is a mod here will make me more inclined to open this forum up and post in it.

[/ QUOTE ]

Tup - serious question: do you think stabn and edfurlong can handle trolling srs bz atf threads without you?

Concerned,
