Does anyone know the blinds for Day 3 (with the 500k+ buy-in)?

[/ QUOTE ]

Cardplayer.com put up an article a few minutes ago, it was 3k/6k NL with a 12k straddle.

[/ QUOTE ]

wow, if those were really the blinds Jman shouldnt want to play that day anyway, unless he wanted to be very irresponsible with his bankroll. A 100BB in this game would be 600k, and you would want like 30 of these buy-ins to even play, so your looking at a 18 million dollar bankroll to play in this game. Needless to say, I dont think anyone on this forum is going to bep laying this game.

Interesting point of view and I agree somewhat but remember golf was initially well promoted on the back of Arnie's army and his "big old" personality.

Nicklaus and Player etc came along and Nicklaus was openly hated by the majority of "personality lover" golf followers. He was fat midwestern boy who didnt smile a lot and destroyed the fields in the 60s. People initially thought he was bad for the game....

Later, however, we all preferred seeing quality golf and commentary than just flamboyance.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, that Arnold Palmer sure didn't play quality golf, eh?

How on earth did you get that from what he wrote?

"I took a limo to the game, and after the game the limo dropped me at the San Fran airport for the 10:30 pm United Flight to Vegas, before taking my son home."

I think he wants us to know he took a limo...

Interesting commentary at the end of the article, given the topic of this thread -

=============================
The players invited to exhibit on High Stakes Poker are carefully selected. It’s almost as if the producers are casting for a movie. The money made Monday’s game compelling, but how entertaining would it have been if all the players weren’t who they are? As with athletes and actors, people associate themselves with poker players as characters. And that’s what takes High Stakes Poker from just being good, to great TV.

The author of the cardplayer article made an error - it was 300-600 with a 1200 straddle.

Nice trip report. Two questions:

1. Did filming stop during an allin for Phil to do an insurance deal?
2. What's a "FPS-MAchine"?

LOL @ the way that Hellmuth says he lost 50K:
[ QUOTE ]
I went to the Bellagio and played $2,000-$4,000 limit, and won another $40,000 or so, although all of that was due to having 1/3 of Mike Matusow, who won $270,000

I think they were trying to say that poker is promoted because of big personalities like say golf in the 1960s.

I have a strongly differing view that we should bury the wankers (loudmouths etc) if we want to get mainstream advertisers to PAY for players to play....

even NASCAR is fully funded by industry and their main "guys" come across quite well, versus our beloved poker industry where we see Humberto, Mrs Laak Tilly, Mouth, Sooky girl Hellmouth etc with zero class, zero style as the main proponents.......guys that have a brain and intelligence like van Alstyne etc are pushed into the background.....
