Re: High Stakes Poker thread (11/19 - 500K buyin pt 3 - Spoilers on alert)
At the end Gold says it was more like $300k, not $180k. I think this is right because he shold have been well over $500k after the hand against Patrik. Farha and Gold are amazingly bad. Guy seems like a pretty big fish as well.

Yeah, my girlfriend was screaming at the TV (and myself) for a good half hour because of Jamie's rhetoric.
God damnit, I'm pissed off at that guy on the last page who said we're childishly mean to him. The guy is a world-class tool. He'd make a great character on the office. |

Either Guy is terrible or a [censored] genius. What a sick c/r against Jamie with JJ on 9765 board.

Jamie was on level 1. Sammy was on level 4 or 5 and confusing himself. The standard play against Jamie still seems to work. Ask him what he has and he'll just tell you. [/ QUOTE ] "I have a big hand sammy, I dont have aces but I have a big hand" |

i think the biggest improvement i would like to see in season 5 would be to do away with running it twice. i know this supposedly popular in high stakes cash but i know i and am assuming most people watch to see big sums of money to be thrown around and see people get emotional after losing a lot of money etc. Running it twice to a chopped pot which it has so far it almost always has resulted in makes it much less of a gamble and not as enertaining. They build the show up as the "biggest cash game televised" and have previews of players shoving in bundles of money, then so far all of the big pots have been divided up. Yea it might make for tighter play but definitly not less interesting play. My $.02 anyway... [/ QUOTE ] I totally agree. It was the same (but to a lesser effect on the audience) as the Prop Betting. I think that's why they don't do it anymore on TV. I think the producers asked them to stop. I hope they stop the "running it twice". Very anti-climactic, and I don't think most of the audience understands it. My wife is always confused. |

Another HSP episode ends with another multiple run hand.
These guys should all put on dresses when they play poker. |

Re: High Stakes Poker thread (11/19 - 500K buyin pt 3 - Spoilers on al
I'm not convinced Sammy really knew where he was at. AT one point Jamie said "I might have a set" and "I'm trying to be nice to you". I really think Sammy thought that there was a possibility that Jamie had 10,10.
One guy here told me that all this banter saved Jamie $180K on the river. But I think that Jamie should easily have been able to dump this hand on Sammy's $100K bet. He said "you have aces" 10 times. But that's how bad Jamie is... he'll knowingly call when he is behind JUST because his hand is strong. He seems to think that this is justification to pay people off. |
