FCBL: At the time you said you wanted to take the puzzle in the spirit of POG. That told me you thought it was fun.

Now you're saying you were annoyed and aggravated by it?

:-(

JACK IF YOU ARE VILLAGE AND HAVE PEEKED A BORG VOTE FOR HIM TONIGHT.

IF YOU ONLY HAVE ANOTHER VILLAGER VOTE FOR YOURSELF.

[/ QUOTE ]

Jack, don't do that, do this instead.

Vote for the person who you peeked. If your peek failed, don't vote for anyone.

Then, vote Excute if that person was borg.
or Release of that peek was villager.

[/ QUOTE ]I like that plan if the dmk execution is ahead by several votes late.

I DID NOT AND COULD NOT create the puzzle. There is no way I could possibly fake the frustration I felt and still feel trying to solve it. Whether that comes across the board as "tone", I don't know.

[/ QUOTE ]

you didn't have to create it - you could have got Nich or AN Other poster to create it for you which would have left you neatly able to try and solve it - giving 100% genuine honest to God frustration at trying to "solve it"

Herbie - where does the GEMSTONE fit into the puzzle??

and which gemstone was it?

I like this idea better.

Thank you Picard for the extra choice - woot.

As far as I know there's no urgent reason for Q to communicate that message to the Borg. So there's a good chance it's a red herring.

[/ QUOTE ]
If it said something off the wall like Matrix is a borg I would agree 100% but this just fits too well to be a coincidence here. Do you honestly think that all the connections I pointed out earlier are just coincidental?

[/ QUOTE ]No, no I don't think it's coincidental necessarily. I think it's possible FCBL was just having fun and trying to solve the puzzle, but yeah, the whole time he was posting about it I was getting a creepy feeling.

And your solution to the anagram is the best yet, by far.

I just hate, hate, hate to obey Q's puppet strings though.

[/ QUOTE ]
Neil - one of these three things HAS to be true

1) My explanation is correct
2) My explanation is completely coincidental or
3) Q had a master plan in mind to frame FCBL and EVERY SINGLE ACTION that happened after that including those taken by FCBL himself played right into his hands

If 2 or 3 is true then I will sleep soundly having been wrong about this but there is like no chance that it isn't 1 IMO

It was fun when I started. It got very frustrating when I could not get past a certain point. I really could not decide whether to play poker last night, or struggle through the puzzle.

Herb - if you solution doesn't involve a gemstone somewhere no matter how plausible it can't be correct (can it?)

matrix had 198 posts in average speed xii (2500 posts). he only has 55 here (1600 posts). significantly less. he has also gotten much better at this game:

monday night turbo

i had no idea matrix was a wolf i was sure it was you neil

he just came in and posted that he read the thread and says that:

our priority is to get rid of Q (who can't vote)

he thinks riker is borg (brilliant, wdcbooks gets researched n1 and dies n2) and then says we have to focus on killing riker when we have no way to know who he is, WTF

I don't think it was material to the puzzle - it was probably thrown in just to provide appropriate letters and fill out the Limerick form. Or it could be a further clue that I just don't understand at all.
