Are there any STTer's playing the EPT London? I want to play the £500 tourney tomorrow and/or the £300 on Saturday but don't have that kind of cash on hand. Will do a transfer from FT or Stars, pm me to arrange the details. Would greatly appreciate it and give you a few %'s for your trouble.

Also, if anyone in London is hitting the town anytime the next few days drop me a pm.

why don't you just use your atm card (if thats an option) to wd 500 or 300 making a couple of atm withdrawls? Option #2 would be doing a cash advance on a credit card. I'm not 100% sure that works as I've only done it in the UK at Lloyds TSB where I have a couple of accounts. Both options will give you the "true" exchange rate vs paying any vig but obv a CC cash advance may have its own fees etc.

I'm going to try to do it at lloyd's tomorrow but I'm pretty sure my atm card won't let me withdraw ~1k in one day.

For future reference for anyone, if you plan on going to Europe, it pays to have a Bank of America account. They have deals with major banks in France (BNP), GB, Germany, and Italy, and maybe one or two other countries where you can take $$ out of the ATMs for no fee, plus you get the wholesale rate on $$ to Euros. When I was in France, I actually got a better rate on my conversion than what it was listed at at the end of the day on the exchanges. I mean, it's great to pay upwards of ~10% with ATM fees + conversion fees and all, but if you're not into that, the above suggestion is a solid one.

Calling your bank ahead of time to raise your W/D limits is good too if you want to play $$ games/tournes, at least if you don't plan on losing your ATM card. Once you travel to a foreign country to play poker, you realize what a pain in the ass it can be having enough cash on hand (esp. w/o having to pay fees for that)

BTW, I had like $1k Euros left from my last trip over 6 months ago - instead of cashing it back in and paying a fee, I decided to hold onto them til next trip, esp. since the U.S. Dollar looked like it was only going to keep falling against the Euro.

Up 8% in value since. Lol weakdollarments.

Jgunnip, I am where you are at; last 3 days, JJ+, AKo are all losing hands according to my stats, over 6k sample size. Only down 6 buy-ins, but ... aaaaaaaaaaghhhhhh!

[/ QUOTE ]

Approximately how many hours is 6k hands? and so losing 6 buyins is bad, damn I need to play cash.

[/ QUOTE ]

Conservative estimate for multitabling is 75 hands/table/hr. This allows for opening and closing tables, waiting for blinds when you open tables etc. 4 tabling is 300h/hr, so 6k hands is 20 hours. I mix between 4 and 6 tabling depending on my mood, so I plan on 2k hands a day of cash.

-6 buy-ins, hmm, generally, I think it is easier to control variance playing cash, just have to be real nitty. I fail this test!
