The job is for a full time overnight position as a computer technician for the state. I don't even really want the job right now because of the poker $, but I don't think I can turn down a long-awaited opportunity (applied for several positions in the last year, this is my first interview) to get my foot in the door with a government job that will lead to much greater things once I graduate. I only play like 2 hours/day max 90% of the time anyways, so I'll still be able to do that most days. Overall, I think I'll have to accept if they offer it to me, especially with the benefits. The degree is in computer sciences and mathematics because I'm a total dork so that kind of stuff comes easy to me.

[/ QUOTE ]

Since getting your foot in the door is the hardest part, your plan sounds like a good one. And, you're only a dork if you choose to do something you don't like just because it comes easy to you.

Being good at something + liking whatever it is = +EV

GL Monday!

eh, I was looking at the pokerstars fpp prizes, and you can get a $215 seat in the millions for 16000, or a $285 cash bonus for 25000.

Seems like you get way better value in taking the seat, then unregistering. Am I missing something?

It does. But it's very, very infrequent. You gotta watch and notetake the tools that can't lay down their overpairs no matter what.

I think you buy a ticket to a 215$ sunday tournament. So if you unregister, they just give you your ticket back.
