Luby,

I was talking mostly about dealing with smart LAG's. The definition of a marginal hand against a pure maniac changes a lot. Even if you think they could have A high, it's ok to fold middle pair to a gross overbet. But push hard whenever you do think you have a solid favorite, including top pair marginal kicker depending on your read. Let them make that overbet and then raise. Try to play against these players in position with two cards that can flop something you'll feel good about: AT-AK, KJ, KQ, good pairs, QJs, etc.

Thanks for the advice. I have played against these players in normal tourneys (3k starting chips) and they will make ridonkulous 10x BB raises and usually I just bide my time, wait for them to bet into me and pounce. Seems like for deepstack maybe loosen up my starting reqs and play some post flop poker. I just worry about spewing chips w ATs...
