I remember a Tommy Heinsohn gem after one of the Celtics got called for blocking in a critical point in the game.

"THAT WAS A CHARGE!! BAD CALL BY THE REF, HIS FEET WERE CLEARLY OUTSIDE OF THE CIRCLE! THE REFS JUST COST THE CELTICS THE GAME!"

After FSN shows replays that the refs made the right call

"Well it looks like his feet were inside the circle. That was still a bad call anyway."

Not sure who it was, but today on the radio on some preview of today's games, a guy actually said "Notre Dame should be licking its chops on offense getting ready for Purdue."

Uhhhh...Notre Dame should not be licking its chops about anything at this point.

You are using 7 years of hindsight against someone who is doing live commentary. Its completely unreasonable to expect him to parse every phrase perfectly.

OK, so it only counts as stupid if we can prove it is stupid many years later?

OK...let me try then.

"Tony Gwynn Jr. will be a much better hitter than his dad ever was."

Now let's wait a few years to see how stupid I am.

Saying, and inherently speculating, that Drew Henson would be a franchise QB before he ever got to the NFL wasn't nearly as dumb as would be somebody saying in 2007 (after seeing Gwynn Jr. hit in the bigs) that Gwynn Jr. would be "much better" hitter than his dad.

Your example sucks and you aren't proving anything. You clicking on this thread should happen no more. Think about what you did.

More of Hollywade's genius

Someone mention the Suzy Kolber thing in the fantasy draft. It was Brett Favre.

Anytime any Toronto media person says anything about John McDonald. Also Rance Mullinks suggests hitting and running about 8 times every game he broadcasts.

I caught the end of the Florida - Auburn game last night. Florida ties it at 17 in the 4th quarter on a QB draw by Tim Tebow. Tebow celebrates, then goes and apparently tries to hype the defense up...Mike Patrick starts talking about how competitive Tebow is and how he simply "refuses to lose"...sideline reporter then tells a story of how before the season, Florida had a tug of war between the offense and the defense and the players picked Tebow. Yeah, I don't know what that means either, but I'm pretty sure that's what she said. I guess he was the tug of war MVP. Anyway, Florida gets the ball back late, goes three and out, and Auburn drives down and wins with a FG at the gun. I guess Tebow decided to lose this time. Maybe they should wait a little deeper into a guys career than like, his first close game, before giving him the 'refuses to lose' tag.

Mike Wilner of the FAN590 tilts me every time he opens his mouth about J McD being the greatest.

Actually he tilts me every time he defends the team
