wow, so many degenerates on this forum. unreal.

twp, just because it is neutral ev does not mean that it is not absurdly stupid to bet your house or your firstborn son on a coinflip. $10 would be ok. this is a situation where scale absolutely matters.

Thank god for this thread. I just lost $8500 on pit games and had to come home from Vegas early, and I'm glad to see there's someone here that lost 30x that on something stupid to cheer me up.

TWP,

taking higher variance in the stock market means the stock has to offer higher returns to compensate for that variance.

just bringing up an example of variance and required return based on it. Most ppl would consider it a horrible deal and would take a huge -EV cut just go get away from that type of variance. But sure, grims a effed up guy so it ifs fun for him he should do it.
