Re: Games You\'ve Spent the Most HOURS On

I don't get those games. The person who does best is the person who puts the most time in - there's so little skill involved. I'd rather beat people by being better than them, not by sleeping less than them. [/ QUOTE ] THAT'S WHY WE HAVE BOTS, lol |

Ultima Online without any doubt. An educated guess puts me in the range of 3500-4500 hours I've spent playing it. I must've averaged ~4 hours per day for about three years. [/ QUOTE ] This was my same experience with UO. Other front runners include: 2) Diablo II 3) The Realm (old MMORPG from from the early-mid '90s..someone tell me they've played this) 4) WoW |

Re: Games You\'ve Spent the Most HOURS On
The game I've spent the most hours on... if I had to guess:
Doom II Civilization Tetris Street Fighter II Turbo F-Zero Space Harrier Mega Man 2 Probably looking at 200 hours on MM2, 400 hours on a game like SF2T, 1000 hours for something like Tetris, 2000 hours for something like Civilization, and 4000 hours Doom II. I might be lowballing all of these though. It's really hard to judge over 10, 15 years. |

Re: Games You\'ve Spent the Most HOURS On
Starcraft, this was the start of the whole missing school because i've been up all night playing routine. After SC was Warcraft 3, which I played religiously and even played in some regional qualifiers for WCG and did pretty well, and was actually a very highly respected player in the community. But blizzard soon destroyed that game through various retarded patches and came out with an expansion which I also played alot, but never really went thru with it. Then came counterstrike, which is fun, but takes really more repitivness to get better rather than learning new strategy to win. Its like pacman, naturally the more you play the better you get, thats how CS was to me, and I cant really say the same for warcraft3. where I would talk strategy, write articles, and go over replays over and over to learn my opponents strategy and how to beat them, etc..
In the end was World of Warcraft, which is a great game but takes up too much time and needs strict devotion if you want to get to the top of the game. In my experiences you do need skill in the game, but a lesser skilled player can get farther if he just puts in more time. Also it has to be the most addictive game I've ever played in my life, and im glad to have stopped playing it a few months ago. I'd have to say my most hours are still in warcraft3, but world of warcrraft is a close 2nd. I just cant help but to think how much better my poker game would be right now if I would have never discovered that damn game and put as many hours into improving my poker game. Live and learn I guess.. |
