I don't see how anyone can nominate ICP or MSI. It's like nominating Weird Al.
My nominations: 1. Just about any Christian rock band, moreso the ones that attempt to crossover. Creed is included in this. 2. Good Charlotte 3. Rascal Flatts |

-The Grateful Dead -Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship/Starship -Eric Clapton I think a very strong case can be made for either The Grateful Dead or the Eagles, although I'd give it to the Eagles in terms of sheer loathesomeness. [/ QUOTE ] This is insane. Personal preference and taste is very different than 'the worst band ever'. The Dead were around for over 30 years, constantly selling out venues without ever playing the same show twice. Musically speaking they are regarded as proficient at worst, and even their worst critic can't take away their ability to jam and their mastery of their individual instruments. They challenged themselves and their fans musically each and every night they went out there, and managed to garner what could likely be considered the strongest fan base of any band ever. They did this without radio play or mainstream acceptance. They were also one of the first bands to actively encourage their fans to tape and trade their live shows - without any compensation to the band members. Revolutionary. Say what you want about their fans and subculture, but no logical person could say they are the worst band ever. Are you saying they are worse than 4 Non Blondes? O-Town? You should try listening to them with an open mind, instead of carrying over your hippy-hate from years ago. I can't even begin to touch your comment on Clapton. Perhaps the most absurb thing I've ever read on 2+2. And of course it's cool to hate The Eagles. "Once in a while you get shown the light, In the strangest of places if you look at it right" |

Ok, here's the deal. Insane Clown Posse is such an irrelevant choice for the worst band ever trophy. Who will care about them or MSI, or Simple Plan, or the Turd Brothers, or whoever? Nobody, that's who. To be in the running for WBE, you need fame, and a staying power to your suckiness. You need that extra umph. Having set that out, here are the correct nominees so far, plus a few I'd like to toss out there: -Kiss -The Eagles -Aerosmith -Coldplay and my picks -The Grateful Dead -Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship/Starship -Eric Clapton I think a very strong case can be made for either The Grateful Dead or the Eagles, although I'd give it to the Eagles in terms of sheer loathesomeness. [/ QUOTE ] This entire post, except for the reiteration of KISS and, to a lesser extent, Coldplay, is really really wrong. And I really don't like the Eagles. |
