I have never cried at a moive, but the following got me closer than I care to admit:
Big Fish
Million Dollar Baby
In America
Roommates
Life is Beautiful
Rudy
Field of Dreams
Radio
Imagining Argentina

and the one that got to me the most:
Mr. Holland's Opus

And the saddest scene I can think of:
When Forrest asks Jenny "Is he smart"

I'm probably the only one, but Friday Night Lights the movie got me teary eyed. I fully expected the team to win, and when the abusive father hugs his son and gives him his championship ring. I haven't seen my dad since I was 14 or 15, so stuff like that really gets to me.

[/ QUOTE ]

When Booby Miles comes out of the locker room for the last time with his uncle, they get in the car...he breaks down crying and screaming "what are we gonne do now" -- his uncle hugs him but can't do anything about it. That's the fastest I've ever gone from totally normal to crying substantially because of a movie.

[/ QUOTE ]

Excellent call. The guy that plays Booby is so good in that scene. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.

Green mile is a good one. I cried the first time I watched a Beautiful mind. Also a movie called My Life, starring Nicole Kidman and Michael Keaton. There are too many to remember. I'm a sucker for a sad movie.

I also can't hold back the tears in E.T., even 20 years later.

[/ QUOTE ]

My Life - I get choked up every damn time they take him out into his back yard and they give him the Circus.

[/ QUOTE ]

I now see that you beat me to it. Me too. I cry at the Circus part, cause that damn soundtrack is MADE to induce tears. It's like the audio version of an onion.

[/ QUOTE ]

The whole movie was sadness buffet. The scene that got me was when his dad was shaving him.

Edit: Also the ending when he isn't afraid of death anymore. Man, I can't believe I'm digging this thread so much.

I also notice movies featuring fathers and sons are getting heavy airplay on here. I am fortunate to have a very good father, so those father/son scenes really get me.

For me, it's the part where his dad is shaving him. Emotional KO every time.

[/ QUOTE ]

The shaving scene is far and away the saddest in my opinion.
