[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] they killed him in a restaurant while he ate with his family. tony watched [/ QUOTE ] who killed him? [/ QUOTE ] I can easily see how you could get The sopranos, confused with Analyze This. [/ QUOTE ] my bad, i quoted the wrong post. i want to know who people think killed tony, of those who think the cut to black means he was killed. [/ QUOTE ] Sigh. Ok obv it would be the dude who was in the restroom. I don't really like that theory though. I think we're simply not supposed to know if his life went on or if it ended. |

Re: Sopranos Season Finale Discussion
The suspicious looking guy at the diner looked familiar. Does anyone remember him from another episode?

it doesn't matter if tony got killed - he's already dead in a very real sense. if this wasn't conveyed by the entirety of the episode, i don't know. the only thing that suggests he has much life to him at all was the final scene. [/ QUOTE ] that wasn't my question. a few people have said he was killed when it cut to black. i want to know who out there wants him dead by the end of the episode. |

the ending is a crafted jolt to the viewers. i can understand people standing on "that ending sucked", i can understand people being struck and then going on to accept or like or love it. but to instantly say it's perfect seems like you're skipping over the mourning phase. how can you say something was great despite difficulty if you never actually internalized the difficulty? it's like everyone wants to be the first to "get it". [/ QUOTE ] i felt they held on the black screen for too long - that's my only problem with it. still, i feel like that's what life is like for tony soprano - one minute you're ordering off a menu, the next you could be dead - it's a quick cut, no goodbye endings, nothing operatic or grand. if it suggests death, so be it - the show is by and large about death. is the soprano family depressed because of how close they are to death, or does their tendency towards depression lead them into these choices? |

Re: Sopranos Season Finale Discussion
Great episode.
Like everyone else I was hoping a little bit for a big ending but that doesn't take away from the fact that this was an appropiate ending for the show. But instead, the penultimate episode was the action packed one and this one just showed that life goes on. Instead of the impending disaster they just built up tension and dispite the lack of 'something' happening led it to being a pretty action packed scene. Well done. |

Re: Sopranos Season Finale Discussion
Notice what the last sound heard besides the music. It was the bell at the door, which sounded just like the bell from the beacon in Tony's coma dream.
The problem with Tony being dead is ... why? nobody wants him dead anymore. |
