This is totally self defeating to think about, but LA has the highest ratio of single males:single females in the US, so that has a lot to with it. The women can be very selective because they are way outnumbered.

Personally, my plan is to move to NYC where they have the highest single female:single male ratio.

This is kind of a dumb chart. They should do it by % more men or women, not total %. That big blue dot looks bad, but 40k is a blip to LA. I'm sure Alaska's would be gigantic if it we're by %.

Yeah, that was what I was going for. It's a pleasure trip anyway, driving over to see some friends in Pasadena.

I let Al know and he may contact LFS, skunk, et al to try to set something up. Sounds like a good time. Would be kinda LOL if we could get Blarg to attend, but we'll have to restrict his comments to 300 words at a time.

Those are two great pieces of advice.

I find it WAY easier to ask for a number in the context of doing something. Oh, you like live music? Yeah, we should totally catch a show sometime, lemme get your number.

And I also find it WAY more comfortable to ask for it quickly as opposed to talk a lot and then at the end be like, so, um, yeah well, uh, can I get your number or something.

Most girls seem to find it pretty standard to have you call/text them right then so they can punch your name in to their phone.

Do this. All the time. Sometimes a girl will ask me for my number mid-conversation and I'll even ignore her and continue what I was saying, which really puzzles them. Also, getting the number mid-conversation allows you the upper hand of leaving the scene at any point you like, which is usually a plus. Just say "Well hey great talking to you but I gotta run, let's meet up soon."
