Re: HIgh Stakes Poker 4 thread (8/27)
Here is Antonio's account, I am hoping to get Phil to update today on the Brunson hand. Phil literally has the oddest sleeping schedule ever.
Quads is about the easiest hand ever to play but give Brian credit, the 10 minute wait earned him 50k. "Going into the hand I raised 2100 obviously hoping to pick up the pot right there, but in poker there usually is a snag one way or the other and the plan had to change. Brian raised me 10k so it was discussion time; what did he have and could I out play him post flop or should I just lay it down? At the time I figured maybe mid pair, ak, or aq so I reraise 27k to eliminate these possibilities. He just calls so the thought process continues. Now I think he has AA because any mid pair or AK or aq he mucks and KK I feel he would push. The flop comes K K 4. I pretty much ruled out most hands, I was sure I was dealing with AA so he checks and I lead out with 30k just under half the pot. He thought about the hand for at least 10 minutes before calling (they sped up his discussion in editing) so now I really feel he has AA and he has too much invested not to see if he can hit on the turn. The turn comes a 10, he checks, and now I fire 50k thinking he cannot call with AA any longer. He raises me 50k and I think for a minute. I figure out he only has 30k left and there is nothing else I could do to win the hand so I muck. Seven deuce is a crazy game. You must have balls of steel to play it and you cannot run into the stone cold nuts with it if you have to continue a post flop attack. Just to tell how sick this seven deuce game is, I was at the Bellagio about two weeks later playing seven deuce again and I run in to quad kings. How sick is that?? I did not loose nearly as much on the hand but really…what are the odds on that? Next weeks episode there is no more seven deuce hands for me on the show but there is anther 300k still to be bluffed off by other players. It should make for good TV. PUBLISH BY Antonio Salorio," |

am I the only one to find Brunson's angle shoot actually funny? [/ QUOTE ] I guess. I thought his straight forward "no" to the straddle was funny, I laughed out loud. Phil Laak: TODD WILL YOU STRADDLE?! OMG. Todd Brunson: No. Phil Laak: ...Oh. total douche chill. However, I do think Todd should cut his hair, he'd be a lot more dreamy. (Sorry Todd, but, I did just call you dreamy to make up for it.) I also laughed really hard when Phil flipped over his 7 2. The weird thing is, if MM had another buy in, Helmuth may not have made that bet, but if he had made it and MM folded, it would be +ev like crazy, with the amount of tilt we'd see on Matusow. As per the Jaguar story, that's awesome. And other people shouldn't waste their money on insurance. [ QUOTE ] He thought about the hand for at least 10 minutes before calling (they sped up his discussion in editing) [/ QUOTE ] ^"At least?" Right. Does "at least" now mean "not even close to, maybe a quarter of the amount I'm about to say" ? As per commercials, I have GSN here, yet I still don't watch it on TV. I see no reason to, just wait literally 2 hours and it will be somewhere on the net...Then of course, the ratings go down? So whatever, you suckers should keep watching in on TV. |

Re: HIgh Stakes Poker 4 thread (8/27)
Great episode, so glad it's back. Felt like that Ahhhhhhhhh feeling watching the action.
-Matusow would have def. called Hellmuth if he wasn't in the game on one buy-in IMO. He just did not wanna get broke that fast. LOL, then he goes and bleeds off more so go figure, hehehe. -Brian Brandon? Who? Tool? YESSS!!! -The Todd angle? Meh, that is borderline @ best. I actually lean towards if the chips actually get released from his hand that it actually counts as action. Lots of times you see guys movin their chips in/out in front of their cards and whatnot, but when a guy puts in a "pump-fake" (I like that ) if you cannot control you're own person, that should be on you. But w/e I can see where ppl would be against it. -I [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Haralabos! His awesomeness cannot be measured by any accepted system globally. -Commercials, LOL |

Re: HIgh Stakes Poker 4 thread (8/27)
Could someone define angle shoot? I mean I feel like I know what it is but that it has a vague defenition.
There are angle shoots that are within the rules and ones that aren't right? If Todd thought it was within the rules then maybe it shouldn't have such a negative connotation to it. Another example would be when Laak supposedly "accidently" threw out a larger chip and was asking if he could get it back. When he actually had a very strong hand and wanted the other guy to call. As soon as Todd did it I thought it was BS and that it should be a call. Then I thought Gabe said where Todd normally plays you can do that w/o it being a call. I understand that the rules are decided by the casino but if Todd thought he was within the rules then it was ok. |

Re: HIgh Stakes Poker 4 thread (8/27)
That whole Brunson thing was really confusing. I thought he DID call. Not right there, but about 5 seconds after he motioned to the pot, you can see him motion again (Bad camera angle) and then had no more chips in his hand when the angle changed. And Laak flipped over his hand. I didn't understand what happened here.
Okay- I reviewed the tape, and Brunson DOES call. If you go to 23:48 on the (won't say site's name) torrent video, you can see that he has put in 1 (grey?) 10k chip, and 3 black 100 chips (I guess the 4th black chip was off the screen) I think Gabe misunderstood what happened, and Laak was just asking to know for future hands what the rule was |

Re: HIgh Stakes Poker 4 thread (8/27)
The funny thing about Haralabos is his pairing with Matusow and Hellmuth. His humor is so out there I definitely see some bewildered looks coming from those 2 in the next couple of episodes.
