BartTuch,

Are the colors of the chips different due to the asian influence in the area? For instance, most casino's use red as $5 chips, but at the Bike (California in general?) they use yellow, etc.? Isn't yellow a good luck color in the asian culture?

[/ QUOTE ]

funny... there is a full thread in B&M from today that goes into this, here is a link:

Asians like the "gold" color but as far yellow I'm not aware of it having any special significance.

Thanks for the link, TS. And sushi, I think it may have been that red is bad luck? I've heard something along those lines, not sure if that's the reason, but what I've heard. Interesting that California is different than everywhere else.

The color scheme is a California thing, the red=$5, green=$25 etc is Atlantic City

Not just AC...it's universal. Except for California. AC, Vegas, Tunica, NM, Ok, Az, everywhere, except California.

Dave and Bart,

I went broke similarly to how Mo X put in most of his chips in with pocket queens. I had an overpair and was check raised all in by a set of 2's. It was a $200 lesson I'll never forget. Could you please give me some input or signs on making a laydown such as this

green = $25
black = $100

Arvin,
It went bet, raise, re-raise, re-re-raise. At some point, you have to put your opponent on a hand that beats one pair. Not to mention that Mo X only raised to $100 straight (5x BB after 2 or 3 limpers...if you choose to play it that way, you have to treat it as a one pair hand and can not over value your pair).

hope that helps.
