[ QUOTE ] This [censored] has been happening for the past two [censored] days. [/ QUOTE ] Unfortunately, it gets worse. Much worse. :/ It's actually sort of amusing in a very sick, twisted way, how many of the regular posters here have gone through "screw poker, I'm quitting forever" phases in the LC threads. [/ QUOTE ] im pretty sure that ALL of the regular posters have made posts like this. i think i've "quit" poker like 50 times at least |

Re: ***** November LC Thread *****
Superstition alert:
Whenever I start a night like this: 2 player $50: 85.71% (6/7) ROI: 63.27% Total profit: $232.50 It's actually really hard to keep going. Because I know it can only go downhill from there, and I'm afraid. Therefore I am spending lots of time browsing this forum rather than playing at a time where I have at least started out playing well *and* running well. (my all-in EV/chip over 9 all-ins in those games was 72.66%, meaning that I was running sick good against bad opponents, who put their chips in as a 28% underdog on average. AND I won 10% more chips than "my fair share", which probably means I won all but one of them, then one that took me out in the game I lost) Aren't you supposed to be *more* willing to play when it appears things are going in your favor? Silly, I know. And sad, as well. but true, nonetheless. |

Re: ***** November LC Thread *****
roi vs variance in heads up sngs.. what correlation does ROI have to how much variance you experience? Say for instance I have a 10% ROI which I do long term in the sng I play most often, and moving up to the next level say I have an 8% ROI. Will my breakevens, and downswings etc be 20% worse, actually I'd almost expect it to increase exponentially the closer you get to 0% ROI

Re: ***** November LC Thread *****
in HUSNG the variance is a direct function of the ROI. As ROI goes up, variance goes down. Look up the binomial random variable distribution.
