And likely unless he changed his style of living would hamper him far more than most other modern athletes.

Ruth wouldna lived on hot dogs and whisky if he were playing today, and Bonds wouldna had a personal chef and a personal trainer if he were playing back then.

Preferably as a whole thought instead of a collection of words. Let me help you. 1) Ruth would be better if he had better nutrition. This is a fact. So far we are good. 2) No one works out in Ruth's era. Correct again. Lets try 3 for 3. 3) Everyone works out in the Bonds era. WOOHOO! 3 for 3. Gotta bet on the hot hand. Obv 4 for 4 is in the bag. 4) Therefore, Ruth today would make him better than Bonds. Danger Will Rogers, danger. WTF? If you increase the average level, there will be no real difference if the increase corresponds to the increase of the best players. You do realize pitchers get nutrition as well? So do other hitters. In fact Roger Clemens once confessed that unlike Walter Johnson, he has learned of secret scientific methods that will actually make you stronger now. Including Vitamin S. Hrm... I wonder if that depresses Bonds stats.

[/ QUOTE ] Sammy Sosa isn't even close. Mays probably isn't either, but he is WAY closer than Sosa. The important point you bring up is that it really is: Bonds>Ruth>>>>>>>all. So even with adjustments, Ruth is still probably EASILY the second greatest of all time.
