Re: 2007 SEC Football Thread
Here's a fun fact I picked up from another forum.
UGA is currently on a five game SEC East Division losing streak: South Carolina Kentucky Florida Vanderbilt Tennessee --their SEC wins in the midst of this streak coming against West Division teams Auburn and Miss State. |

With Florida State losing to Clemson and really battling to get past UAB (at home) and Bobby Bowden's age Mark Richt might be donning a FSU cap and head set next season. |

Re: 2007 SEC Football Thread
It's possible, interesting dynamic with Jimbo at FSU though, there had to have been some promises/words about a possible HC position for him there. No way he would of left LSU otherwise.

Re: 2007 SEC Football Thread
UGA's "rise" in the East the past 5-6 years has not been quite what it seems.
While they have certainly been good during that time, you have to bear in mind it came during a time when traditional SEC East power (UF, Tenn) were going through some mediocre years, and the real power began to swing to the West (LSU). Now that UF is back and South Carolina improving, UGA is going back to the middle of the pack in the East. |

Re: 2007 SEC Football Thread
Did anybody notice how bad Matthew Stafford played against South Carolina?
Now South Carolina has a fast, underrated defense that is led by thoe outstanding twin linebackers and a pretty stout defensive line+ Captain M. who is a good corner but Stafford consistently made poor reads...at least three of which would have been for 30+ yards and two definite touchdowns. Instead UGA struggled to move the ball and tensed up when they approached the Red Zone. A bunch of "experts" claimed UGA would win the SEC East behind Stafford as he was the best QB in the conference. Judging from his outing on Saturday Stafford still hasn't found himself. |

The officials called defensive holding on the db that was supposed to be blocking the gunner. First it was twenty five yards away from anything that had to do with the outcome of the play, and second not only did the db not hold, the replay showed he never even made contact. Actually a really poor job of blocking by the db. |

Re: 2007 SEC Football Thread
To pile on the UGA bashing, they also should have lost to a terrible Colorado team last year, they trailed the whole game and scored two late touchdowns to barely win, and that was with Colorado pissing away many chance to open up an even bigger lead.
