NT, I think you were 16-17 in 96'. What about me? waiting, ~td [/ QUOTE ] Wrongo, I was 13. I'd guess you were anywhere between 15-18. And I didn't know I was being condescending to anyone, all I did was point out there was some great rock that people were leaving off their lists, and then share it with everyone for free... guess next time I won't bother. is it cool to like this neutral milk hotel cd or something? [/ QUOTE ] Ironically, this is a quote from the pitchfork review of that album: "This album is not cool" Its actually probably the least cool of the great albums in the indie world, most likely due to the subject matter. EDIT: though, just to be clear, it IS the best album ever made |

All, A lot of these lists, while a lot of great albums, make it pretty clear that a bunch of you were like 10yo in '96. I will return with some contributions this evening. [/ QUOTE ] It just so happens 1996 was actually the year that had the most albums on my list with 4. |

Re: Top 25 Albums of 1996-2006 (x-post/Music Forum)
Was Pinkerton from this era? If so, it definitely belongs. Also Eminem deserves at least one spot on everyone's list. In fact, hip hop as a whole is very under-represented here imo, but maybe I just say that becasue I consider this era to be a down era for popular rock music.
