Re: Your five favorite games of all time?
Wow, I have truly enjoyed reminiscing about all of these.
My Top 5: 5. GoldenEye 007 (N64) Needs NO Explanation 4. Tecmo Super Bowl (NES) My intro into the sporting games genre that I've grown to love. The beginning of gaming addiction for me. The quirks of this game are its true lure. I am very happy to see that this game was loved (and still loved) by so many. Don't forget about its sequel on SNES, I used to battle through seasons over the weekends when I would go over to spend the night(s). Many wars. 3. Secret of Mana (SNES) The gem that should NEVER be forgotten. The best MULTI-player experience I have EVER had. Being able to fully go through and complete an RPG w/ 3 ppl was awesome. One of the best games I wish I still owned. Gotta love that "Sprite". 2. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) Epic. This game was so amazing on so many different levels. No need for me to list them; since so many ppl have it listed we all must love it for more than just one reason. Just fantastic. 1. Final Fantasy VII (PS One) Never was there a game that held my attention for DAYS before this. Never was there a game that was as much eye-candy as it was entertaining to play. Never was there a game that made me feel that I had the fate of the "world" in my hands before this. This game was the most fulfilling gaming experience I have EVER had. When I first saw this category for a thread some games immediately jumped out: Ms. Pac Man (Arcade) Classic, Galaga (Arcade) Classic, Tetris (NES) Classic, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out (NES) So fun when I was growing up, Street Fighter II (Arcade) Classic, Mortal Kombat (All Versions, all platforms) Many heated battles and Final Fantasy X (PS2) Just fantastic. But after some deep thought putting together this top 5 list...lol, here are some true honorable mentions: -Grand Theft Auto III (PS2) This is where complete gaming FREEDOM began, GTA: Vice City (PS2) picked it up a few notches, GTA: San Andreas (PS2) and continued to amaze and blow me away. The most fun is just messing around within the game(s), running from the police, gaining all the wanted stars w/o actually putting in the code LOL. -The Madden Series, in particular, Madden 2004 (PS2) With the additions of the "Franchise" Mode and the "Playmaker" controls this is when the series went to a whole new level for me. -Contra (NES) Three words...Don't Stop Shooting. LOL -Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES) I never was a fan of Zelda even though I had played all of the previous versions. This game really made me enjoy actually completing a game and really got me into Zelda again...and again and again... -The Growth of the Character that is Mario. We all played it. We all completed/beat it, but it really didn't start to resonate with me until Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) Just the beginning of a new level for this platform game. Super Mario World (SNES)- Even better, deeper Super Mario Kart (SNES)- Fun Super Mario RPG (SNES)- This is the game I really wanna go back and play again Mario Kart 64 (N64) STILL fun and of course Super Mario 64 (N64) This game revolutionized what seems so unappreciated these days in gaming, @ least to me, and that is the Analog Control. |

Re: Your five favorite games of all time?
No real order...
TIE Fighter. Awesome that other people enjoyed this too Civ 2, though I have fond memories of playing the first with my mom when it was new. I was a bit more hawkish then... Diablo 2/LOD. Played a lot years ago. Great times with friends online. LoZ:OOT. Enough said. Finally would probably be Goldeneye. I play my roommates Call of Duty 2 for FPS now, but Goldeneye will always have a special place in my heart. Honorables: Starcraft, Dinopark Tycoon, Punch Out, FF3, Super Mario World, Guitar Hero series, Settlers 3 (anyone else play this?), embarrassingly Pokemon (many years ago), and Mortal Kombat 1/2, Gearheads. edit - Can't believe I forgot this and don't think it's been mentioned before: Oregon Trail!!! |

Re: Your five favorite games of all time?
5. Super Mario 64
Almost entirely for it's replayability value. 4. Final Fantasy I I'm talkin' back in the old days of NES. That game was amazing. 3. Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina/Majora's Mask Both of 'em, great games. Personally, I think Majora's Mask was an improvement in terms of what you could do with the game, but for overall everything, OoT ftw 2. Diablo 2/LOD Hoping a third one actually does come out, in which case I would go back into hibernation and never stop...I played this game way too much... 1. Counterstrike BOOM!!! HEADSHOT!!! Word. |
