Re: ***Official 2007 Philadelphia Phillies Thread***
Its the playoffs, no such thing as overreacting. Iguchi is just wasting away, and he is easily one of the best talents that the phillies have. Plus he has been here before, and clearly was pumped up and had one of the phillies best at bats. Helms flew out well and i was happy with him, and that is not good. Come on kendrick, lets go phillies.
did anyone see what spilborgs said, that the rockies are clearly the better team? [censored] the rockies. LETS GO. |

Re: ***Official 2007 Philadelphia Phillies Thread***
if you read the other posts, I acknowledged that I misunderstood what you meant by Tad playing every day. I thought you were suggesting replacing Chase at second with Tad because of Chase's performance at the plate today.
just a misunderstanding. |

Re: ***Official 2007 Philadelphia Phillies Thread***
Euro, im sure you appreciated the thousand comments after the game, "LOL, to think a national league game broke out in this bandbox!!" Clint hurdle said that exactly. He is used to playing at Coors so he is not used to having a high scoring game.

[/ QUOTE ] To be fair, ever since they've started waterlogging the baseballs before using them in game Coors Field acts almost like a real ballpark now, so you can see where he's coming from. Evidently both of these managers are dopes. |

Re: ***Official 2007 Philadelphia Phillies Thread***
I was pretty suprised at Utley. He really looked like he was pressing. Those first three strike outs he swung at every pitch.
I have a bad feeling Charlie is going to try and manage everyone of these games. Which means the Phils are screwed. They can only win games where he just stands there claps, complains about balls & strikes and makes the obvious moves. |

Yes. Daulton >>> Ruiz/Coste/Barajas Kruk <<< Howard Morandini <<<<<<<<< Utley Stocker <<<<<<<<< Rollins Holliins/Batiste = Dobbs/Helms/Nunez Dykstra >> Rowand Wes Chamberlain/Pete Incaviglia <<< Burrell Esienreich/Milt Thompson <<< Victorino/Werth The '93 team was pretty good offensively, but this team has got them beat. [/ QUOTE ] That's a fair analysis. I might only take issue with Eisenreich, but he was a personal favorite (beautiful swing). He did hit .318 that year. Another thing that really stands out from that year was how much Dykstra would hurt starting picthers with long, patient at bats. Seemed like all the time he would get up there, foul off pitches, draw a walk, and then all of a sudden the pitcher has thrown around 10 pitches and Dykstra is on base as a threat to steal. Not to focus too much on numbers (because Rollins's numbers were great this year) but as a lead-off, Dykstra's .420 OBP would seem to do more damage than Rollins's .344. That's gotta be from the walks (129 to 49), because Rollins's numbers are better every place else. |

Nails was great, but doesn't matter if Utley strikes out 4x on 13 pitches.

I like today's lineup better.
From what I hear they're going with: Rollins Utley Burrell Howard Rowand Werth Helms/Ruiz/Kendrick |
