I buy only Dell ... no issues ever except for replacing battery chords ... I'm actually recycling an old dell laptop now ( >3 years old ) for my GF

Also, sorry, this should be pointed out ... I only run Linux ... no Windows at all ... that could be part of your problem ... maybe re-install Windows if you haven't done so recently

Going to Paternoville for my 2:30-5:30 shift in a bit. ESPN College Gameday is all set up.

Look for me and my buddy's on TV in the first row. Here's my fbook pic from the Notre Dame game, I'm on the left. Kid in the middle is a really good friend and a lurker I think, and kid on the right is an absolute clown who annoys the life out of me.

I'll be the sober one on TV...NOT.

I'm not sure, mine always seem to slow down after 1.5 years and I end up buying a new one every 2 years. I only get desktops though so I'm not sure.

Also, whoever just posted that they're going to Paternoville this Saturday, it's just too bad you're gonna get smoked by the Buckeyes. Unfortunately I can't watch it cause I'll be at a halloween party [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

I was just thinking tonight about how much I can really see myself marrying Claire one day. Then I read all this pessimism and it brings me back down to earth :-P.

Nah, not really. I'm a hopeless romantic, and always will be...no matter how many times I get my heart broken.

P.S. Whoever said Babel was the worst movie ever hasn't seen Ghost Ship.

Holy Christ, you are getting owned badly for value.

Your computer doesn't just randomly slow down due to old age. Either you're running newer and more demanding software (Vista, latest computer games etc) or it's full of adware and viruses that slow it down.

Next time try a clean install before buying a new one. You might be surprised by the results.
