Who is more overrated...Peyton Manning or Bill Belichek?

[/ QUOTE ]

Why dont you just ask who is a Pats fan and who is a Colts fan?

Peyton is more overrated, however if he wins the SB this year i don't think he will be after that. His regular season stats are ridiculous and he wont be known as a playoff choke artist if he wins.

lol..true
it will in a sense be kind of nice cuz instead of the whole peyton vs. bill belichek...does he have his number blah blah blah and all that other crap ala red sox/yankees pre 2004

and instead it will be pats vs indy...two of the best teams/best qbs of this decade vs each other.

Indy vs NE rivalry has gone to a whole new level...and hopefully NE created a new one with San Diego.

If he wins the SB (and at least one more for good measure), he may be the greatest QB of all-time.

Unless he suffers a career-ending injury, he's playing into his early 40's. He barely gets touched when he's in the pocket. He has plenty of time left.

it would have been 1st and 10 from the 22-25 IIRC without the penalty, it wasn't like the Pats D was doing anything to stop Indy outside of the last drive

[/ QUOTE ]

Seriously, why is there even any discussion of this? I could see if Wayne had lost the ball...

Well, it was a 15 yd penalty and Indy didn't have 1st and goal so I think they were on the 12. You don't think there is a huge difference between being on the 27 as opposed to the 12? Cmon now.

If Indy has the ball on the 27, I don't think there is anyway they hand the ball to Addai 3 straight times. I'm assuming they are much more inclined to pass the ball, putting much more pressure on Peyton to win the game.

If you do agree that the Colts would be more likely to pass, this has tremendous implications on the clock. If the Pats D makes an initial stop, there is more time on the clock to march the field and kick a game winning FG. If the Pats don't make a stop initially, they either get another chance at a goal line stand, which I will say, probably would've resulted in the same outcome, or Indy scores quick, leaving the Pats down 4 in the same scenario, BUT with more time.

Belichick. Obviously Manning is underrated because he didn't even win the MVP.

the roughing call was huge, and kind of chintsy, but the Refs have been making that call all year.

The Pats had the chance to put the game away with 3 minutes when they had the ball and a 3 point lead. This sequence was huge - they get the 12 men penalty, then can't pick up the 15 yards. if they get the 3rd and 5 or whatever, they only need about 1 (or 2) more first down before the game is basically over. But Brady made a bad throw (or miscommunicated with Brown, or both), forcing the punt. Despite moving the ball all game and putting up 27 offensive points, the Colts stopped them in this critical spot.

apologies if this was discussed earlier in the thread, but I have a feeling I'll go on Sporting Events tilt if I go through this thread and read it.

Let's not forget that the past X amount of times the Pats beat the Colts, EVERYTHING went the Pats' way. Quit complaining.
